Corruption a symptom of development

Corruption a symptom of development Corruption as it is inherited. Is it in our gene as human? Can we accept the fact that no nation or society is free of its multi-dimensional social evil? It is one of the problem of problems in the world of today. It has clung to mankind like an incurable disease. It is a widespread moral degradation in the society. Nepotism, misappropriation of public money and non-accountability have spread the waves of almost all the departments of life. Even courts of justice and education are no exceptions. They have also become an arena of corruption. It has almost become an integral part of our economic, social, and cultural activities. From the bottom to the top, the whole machinery is corrupt. The corrupt people use quite amazing techniques and surprising tricks to deceive others. From a peon to the boss, almost everyone is involved in corruption directly or indirectly. Usually, the police and income tax departments were notorious for it. But, now, this evil has spread to every departments of the government. It has penetrated deep into our social system and rusted the machinery of government. Bribery, nepotism and misuse of power have entirely destroyed the moral fiber of our society. Almost all the civil military officials have fallen a prey to corruption. They touch to the lowest level of immorality for the sake of monetary gains. There are several factors that contribute to the prevalence of corruption. It is a severe threat to the national existence. It impairs the whole system of moral, ethical and religious values of a civil society. The distinction between right and wrong disappears. Revolutions and military take overs become common. In fact, it is one of the main causes of the downfall of nations in the past. First, the people are lack of contentment because of economic insecurity in our society. Every person wishes to get rich overnight and, therefore, tries to feather his nest. Second, the inflation rate is unchecked in our society. The public officials are unable to maintain their standard of living within salary. So, they are tempted to accept bribe. Third, lack of accountability on the part of the public servants and the politicians waters the flower of corruption. Fourth, most of the people have ignored religion and moral traditions. They want to amass wealth at any cost. They have no sense of right or wrong. Conscience is God's presence in man. Bribe-giver and the bribe-taker are both doomed for hell. We need to have equality, justice and opportunities for progress available to all the people......To be contin... Corruption is inimical to every human to every human existence, everyone is corrupt. we accept d fact that everyone is corrupt but how do we manage the Corruption is our corrupt society for sustainable growth and development . If Corruption were to be symptoms of progress and development then the Nigeria state would be one of the most developed country on planet earth and vice versa.

can we ride all alone

CAN THE NIGERIA STATE RIDE ALL ALONE? Have we wondered as Nigerians or try to Questioning the need of foreign aid to finance the Nigeria Budget? Development in the third world especially in Nigeria has for years remained an imaginary beast whose look differs to different expatriates. This however has seen many leaders fail to impact their countries positively leaving their commitment in an open sun where evaporation concentrates. Accompanied by corrugated ideas, development has been more of a theory than practical. Development therefore, can only be achieved if the shepherds are aware of it, what it entails and works towards it. The third world is full of ladies and gentlemen whose deeds are based on the copy and paste paradigm. What applied in India did so because there were important factors that were considered before. This explains why in Africa this cannot work. The differences in culture, level of education, values and even the geographical locations plays a role that is different in different countries. Any policy that is to be formulated should respect all these factors plus many others. For any country to develop, it must put the needs of people at the center irrespective of geographical zone or ethnicity. We are not asking the government to fully satisfy everyone but At least help provide a platform . This is because development is people centered without which, the whole thing remains meaningless. There are three pillars of development namely; Political Social and Economic. Literally, pillars are built to support a heavy load and being three here, they should be equally strong. If one pillar is weakened, the rest cannot withstand the weight and instead, the two strong pillars will also break due to imbalance. For any country to fully support the heavy weight of development, it must deal with these factors equitably. Innovations and talents must be nurtured without ignoring education which moulds on all these. Instead of governments creating jobs to their citizens, it should create a conducive environment where these three can thrive well. This could not only attract foreign investors but it could also create a platform where small traders from within can develop. This will create an environment where different people can apply their innovations. The government should come in with policies that are fair and whose intentions are not biased. Poverty being at the highest level ever, could be minimized if this is applied. On the political field, African society have been known for the spirit of brotherliness, ujama principle, communal living so what went wrong? How come the norm in nigeria and many Africa society is " every man for himself and God for us all" winners take all syndrome. It a well known fact for many Nigeria leaders that foreign debt rotten our economy but why do we have to keep borrowing? Why must our budget be only finance by external loan? Who bears the burden? Who does the interest rate benefit? If the 2016 budget will also be finance by foreign loan then we should ask if we are really learning from our past mistakes? The social fabric of our society is key to overall development but we are loosing out to external influence and culture. Gay ism, Terrorism wasn't inherited in Africa so why must we eulogise the rot and welcome them with open hands. To be continue...... We can ride all alone. Cos we are Nigerians.

Nigeria Top Ten in 2015

Nigeria Top Ten In 2015 Have you ever wondered how many made it to the nigeria headline news in 2015? Here is my ranking.... 1) Muhammadu Buhari : After three failed attempts, Muhammadu Buhari finally became President of Nigeria this year. Buhari’s inaugural speech, “I belong to nobody, and I belong to everybody” was epic and won’t be forgotten in a long time. He also got to thrill Nigerians with his public anti-corruption war and for the first time in over 20years publicly wore a suit. 2) Goodluck Jonathan : This year, Goodluck Jonathan became Nigeria’s first incumbent president to lose a rerun election. His singular humble act of conceding defeat even in incumbency after the election attracted applause worldwide and even got him nominated for the noble peace prize. 3) Revered Father Mbaka : He may not call himself a politician but he earned the tag this year. This ‘Man of God’ became one of the loudest voices during the last Presidential election. Without fear, he fought a sitting President. Rev Mbaka, who is known to be Founder of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu, and a supporter of the former president, flayed and floored his former ally’s leadership during his new year sermon titled: “From Good luck to Bad luck’’. 4) Femi Fani-Kayode : ‘’When you beat a child, you can’t tell him not to cry ‘’- if you understand that African proverb then you totally understand Femi Fani-Kayode. He’s King of the Wailing Wailers; no Newsweek ends without Fani-Kayode in the headline. 5) Lai Mohammed : Many Nigerians prefer to call him ‘Lie’ Mohammed. APC Spokesperson turned Minister of Information and tourism. This man spent the first part of 2015 trumpeting APC’s campaign promises and the last part of the year denying them. 6) Diezani Alison-Madueke : Nigeria’s former Minister of Petroleum Resources was one of the few Nigerian women who rocked the headlines this year. The headlines were filled with corruption allegations leveled against again and her battle with cancer. We even saw a headline declaring her dead. 7) Rotimi Amaechi : Former Governor of Rivers state currently Minister of Transport fought the biggest political battles of his life this year. He fought hard and conquered. 8) Bukola Saraki : Bukola Saraki is the leader of Nigeria’s National assembly, the third most powerful man in the country. He became Senate President despite his party’s opposition and has spent most of the year fighting for his life. 9) Ben Murray-Bruce : Ben Murray-Bruce is Nigeria’s leading common sense Ambassador. He’s leader of Nigeria’s parliament on Social Network. His loud voice on Social network makes his silence in the Senate Chambers even louder. 10) Ngozi Okonjo- Iweala : She may have left office but her scent lingers on. Her name is stuck on the headlines like palm oil on a white cotton cloth. She has been fingered in massive misappropriation of public funds and is currently awaiting questioning by relevant authorities. 11) Ayo Fayose : Ekiti state Governor, Ayo Fayose is currently one of the loudest voices in Nigeria’s dying opposition party. He took election campaigning to a new level this year and since then has done his best in always reminding the media that his party is alive To be continue...... who do you think is missing in the top Ten list? Those included in the list are they worthy of been called and ICON and celebrated? You do have your opinion... make it count.

My Country and I.The Triangular Truth

My Country and I.The Triangular Truth Are We are at the turning point? Can We claim we want civility? But can we be honest; what we really want is to dominate, claim superiority and for the other side to shut up We can criticize the politicians, but how many of us truly want to collaborate or cooperate? Critics becomes loyalty when giving a part in the national cake e.g senator Dino, former labour leader now a governor e.t.c Here is the deal and truth, people: Congress works for us like every other business firm with ultimate aim of making profit They are not going to change until we do. They are not going to start thinking bigger until we start thinking bigger. Polarizing politics is not a new problem. It inherited in every society either Big or Small During the 2015 general election, I watched my close suburban community divide. People who once shared friendly backyard akara and eko began to question one another morals and values. Different foes with different ideology, one very conservative (Dole continuity), and one very radical ( Dole Change) Because they both considered me a like-minded peer, they spoke freely about the other side. I got to hear their unfiltered assessment of the other side. You know those people, You know, those people who dont share our values, who dont care about our country, or families or schools or God the same way we do. All thanks to the mass media (AIT and TVC) who helped fuel the crisis Both sides were equally self-righteous and judgmental. It broke my heart, because I knew that their values were more alike than they were different. Same politicians in different political party. We were blinded folded without questioning the CHANGE I also knew there had to be a better way. let's spent the next five years studying the worlds greatest problem solvers, people like Albert Einstein, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams. We will dissected conflict after conflict to identify which behaviors enabled people to solve their problems and which behaviors kept them stuck. The result: The Triangle of Truth is a problem-solving model to rise above either/or thinking. Based on the best practices of the worlds greatest thinkers, The Triangle of Truth is rooted in 7 core principles: 1. Embrace AND 2. Make peace with ambiguity 3. Hold space for other perspectives 4. Seek higher ground 5. Discern intent 6. Elevate others 7. Be the peace The "Am always Right" so you must be "wrong" paradigm isnt working. It never did, and it never will. There is a critical turning point inside every conflict when the two parties either attack each other, or they attack the problem. These 7 best practices of The Triangle of Truth keep the focus on the problem. If we want things to change in our own country nigeria, we the people need to start the process. I used to sit on the sidelines criticizing politicians. Then I decided, this is my country; if I love it, I need to stop criticizing and start helping. Why am I doing this? Because I love my country. Am a victim of circumstance, am a Nigeria citizen who is no longer going to sit on sidelines and watch her country implode, explode and crumble . If we the people want a better government, then we the people need to help our leaders create one. Am in. How about you? This is my little offer. What about YOU?

Who is to Blame for 2015?

Who is to blame for 2015? November 13 2015 in Paris was a moment for history, much as London 2005 was and September 11 was for the United States of America likewise Nigeria #Bring back our girls#. 2015 has been littered with terrorism events. It was actually harder than usual putting this list together, because of terrorism's dominance over the year. Having compiled a Top 10 of this ilk each year since 2009 it was noticeable how significant terrorism has been this year in the cast of this Top 10. NUMBER TEN - NIGERIA ATTACKS BY BOKO HARAM On January 3-7, in a series of massacres in Baga, Nigeria, and surrounding villages, terrorist organisation Boko Haram kills more than 2,000 people. At least sixteen towns are destroyed and over 35,000 people are displaced. The insurgent still persist and as many foreign writers will tagged as the " Collapse of the nigeria state" NUMBER NINE - GERMAN WINGS FLIGHT CRASHES INTO FRENCH ALPS On March 24, Flight 9525, an Airbus A320-211 plane operated by low-cost carrier Germanwings crashes in the French Alps, killing all 150 on board. The co-pilot is found responsible for the crash, having locked the pilot out of the cockpit. Dozens of medical practitioners had reviewed the co-pilot's mental health as having been unstable sparking reviews into airline policies for health assessments for commercial pilots. Several countries' aviation authorities implement immediate policy changes requiring two authorised personnel to remain in the cockpit at all times during flights. NUMBER EIGHT - PARTS FOUND FROM MH370 BOEING 777 On August 5, debris from the ill-fated Malaysia Airlines flight 370 washes up on Reunion Island. The right wing flaperon is verified as belonging to the Boeing 777. Its finding ends nearly eighteen months' speculation and gives hope to the loved ones of the 239 who died on the flight. NUMBER SEVEN - NEPAL EARTHQUATES On April 25, a Magnitude 7.8 quake strikes Nepal, causing 8,857 deaths in Nepal, 130 in India, 27 in China, and 4 in Bangladesh; a total of 9,018 deaths. There is a subsequent quake on May 12 affecting the same area. This registers 7.3 on the Richter Scale and 218 further souls lose their lives. NUMBER SIX - WATER ON MARS On September 28, NASA confirms that liquid water has been found on planet Mars, but there are still many questions as to the planet's habitability, especially regarding its atmosphere. NUMBER FIVE - CLIMATE CHANGE CRISIS On November 30, the 2015 United Nations Climate Control Conference (COP 21) commences, and it becomes the first of its kind where the major players take climate change seriously enough to innovate for action; a universally binding legal agreement, in an effort to keep global warming below 2o Celsius by the year 2100. NUMBER FOUR - SAME-SEX MARRIAGE VOTE AND RULING On May 23, Ireland votes to legalise same-sex marriage, becoming the first country to legalise same-sex marriage by popular vote. And on June 26, the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) rules in favour of gay marriage. The ramifications split many Western world countries with millions passionate on both sides of the debate. Many would asked why Africans will not subscribe to same sex marriage? It very simple " our rich Africa culture provides no mercy for same sex marriage despite all embargo es and threats by the foreign nations NUMBER THREE - BOMBING OF RUSSIAN AIR FLIGHT On October 31, Metrojet Flight KGL 9268, an Airbus A321 en route to Saint Petersburg breaks up mid-air over Egypt. Later it's found that Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL terrorists)* have detonated a one kilogram bomb. 224 people were killed, 217 of which were passengers, and seven crew. NUMBER TWO - GUN DEBATE IN THE U.S. On December 2, the San Bernardino shootings bring the gun debate to fever pitch in the United States of America. Later this event is found to be an act of terrorism with links to radicalisation. Research have in that in United state many died by "Act of Gun than by Act of God" NUMBER ONE - PARIS ATTACKS On November 13, multiple simultaneous attacks are made on Paris. Terrorist organisation Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL)* claimed responsibility, and the group of incidents results in around 132 fatalities. Even though there were other key world-significant events on the day (earthquake in Japan, refugee crisis in Syria, Beirut bombings, bombings in Baghdad, etc) the Paris attacks represent the scale of planning akin to 9/11/2001 attacks on the United States of America. Compared to previous years, 2015 would have to be classified as a year dominated by a higher than average number of very memorable terrorist events. In conclusion: Are these signs of the world coming to end as the religious People will predict? Are these signs of dis unity so we can reunite? Are the above the signs of greed, self centredness on our path? I conclude by asking " who is to Blame?

It so sad that a baby country nigeria is about to fall and disintegrate. The call for a biafra state by the south eastern region of the nigeria state. It's so shameful to say that war is likely to occur cause the course of championing a sovereign state seems to be gaining grounds like an uncureable virus among the loyalist for a sovereign biafra state. it is imminent to ask at this junction that the national question of who is to loose and who is to gain i conclude that every nigerian will be blamed and we shall all sing a song that will be titled had we known

Promises To Reveal corrupt political Elite. President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday promised to reveal the names of former government officials who have voluntarily returned looted funds to the coffers of the Federal Government in "due course", saying that early disclosure of their identities "may jeopardize the possibility of bigger recoveries.". Is this not an irony? Why most it be the usual norm where those found guilty of corruption are mostly if not all antagonist or critics of the emerging ruling arty.
